MINUTES OF SELECTMEN MEETING – December 21, 2009 5:00 PM
Selectmen Present: Eric R. Munson, Jr., Steven DellaGiustina and Thomas Paine
Also Present: Robert Bitso, Wesley Greene
Robert Bitso attended the Zoning Board of Appeals hearing on Wednesday, December 16th and was not please with the way the hearing was run. Steve also attended the hearing. The format of that hearing and every hearing will be discussed at the all boards meeting in January. The Zoning Board of Appeals hearing from Wednesday, December 16th was continued to Wednesday, January 6th.
Wes Greene asked how the surplus equipment was sold. The equipment was advertised in the Tolland Tattler and in the Westfield Evening News.
The location of the proposed cell tower on 162 Colebrook River Road (Tolland Highway Garage) was previously approved of by the Board of Selectmen.
Is Henry Merriman being asked as a volunteer consultant on the Public Safety Complex? The Building Committee needs to be careful with favoritism.
Received two emails from two Tolland residents’ regarding varies property owners having unnecessary items located on their property (unregistered cars and storage containers).
Steve called the Town of Sandisfield asking if they have an appropriate disposal for Compact Fluorescent Light Bulbs. The Town of Sandisfield uses East Coast Recycling. The information will be given to Joanne Duval for her to look into.
The Board of Selectmen is requesting that the Department of Public Works Superintendent, Police Chief and Fire Chief attend a monthly Selectmen’s meeting. Someone from The Police and Fire Department could come to represent the department.
